Emerging from the vibrant music city of Nashville, Tennessee, Maddox Carlson, known artistically as maddox, is quickly carving out his own creative lane by blending multiple genres into a unique sonic experience. Music has always been a natural part of Maddox’s life. Growing up surrounded by production equipment and studio environments thanks to his father, who works as a producer, he developed an early curiosity about how music was made. That curiosity eventually turned into experimentation, as he began exploring software like Logic Pro on his father’s laptop long before he had his own setup.

Everything began to take shape in 2021, when Maddox got his own Mac computer equipped with GarageBand. With full access to production tools, he started learning how to create beats and produce music independently. What started as beat-making soon evolved into writing and recording vocals as well. Although he admits his early attempts weren’t perfect, the process was exciting and pushed him to keep improving.

By 2024, maddox was ready to introduce his sound to the world. He released his first song, “Safari,” across streaming platforms, marking the beginning of his official catalog. Soon after, he followed it with his debut album “somnium,” a project that showcased his developing style and creative versatility.

Maddox didn’t slow down after that. Throughout 2024 he released additional singles before returning in January 2025 with his second album, “NOIR.” The project highlighted his willingness to explore multiple genres and experiment with different sonic moods. Continuing that evolution, his most recent album “darkroom” leans heavily into EDM and new wave trap influences, reflecting the direction his sound has been moving toward recently.

Despite not having performed live yet, maddox is already building momentum as a self-produced artist who handles much of the creative process on his own. Releasing three major projects in just three years—somnium, NOIR, and darkroom—demonstrates his dedication to constant growth and artistic exploration.
